When the US Powerball jackpot was pushing $300 million in December a local lottery syndicate decided to go in and purchase more than 150 tickets.
When Peggy Lunsford went around collecting $2 each from 166 coworkers at US Tool she was already feeling the excitement. But the excitement she was feeling on that day didn't hold a candle to the joy that she and her colleagues felt when they heard the news that their syndicate had won a $1 million Powerball jackpot.
“It was pretty exciting the day that it got announced at work, it kind of, department-by-department, had been informed that they had won,” Brent Williams, the VP at US Tool, told local news stations, “You could kind of hear the eruptions of celebration go around the plant.”
While none of the workers will be quitting their day jobs anytime soon, they all walked away with a nice bonus to their bank account. Each member of the syndicate won roughly $6,000 and each have vowed they will be buying weekly US Powerball tickets in the hopes that they will be able to win that big life-changing jackpot!
