Canadian Man Wins $2 Million On Day He Retires

It could easily have been the best day of his life; a Canadian man won a $2 million lotto jackpot on the day that he started his retirement.

Ping Kuen Shum, a Vancouver local, bought his winning lotto ticket after being in high spirits on the final day of his working life. But his milestone day was about to get even more memorable.

Along with celebrating his retirement and his jackpot win, Mr Ping also celebrated his birthday on the same day; making his day lucky three times over!

After realising he had won, the first thing that Mr Ping did was take his family and close friends out for Dim Sum. "I have worked hard for so many years and I'm looking forward to sharing this fortune with my family," Mr Ping told local Vancouver news outlets.

The draw took place on April 28th, and Mr Ping managed to match all six of his lucky numbers. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation stated that the lucky numbers came in at 09, 12, 13, 18, 21 and 29.
