A unclaimed £200,000 winning lottery ticket bought in South Yorkshire expires in less than a week
There's a buzz around South Yorkshire this week as lotto players from around the county double-check their tickets after a £200,000 prize is yet unclaimed. The life-changing jackpot has remained unclaimed for a few months now, and National Lottery staff are urging UK lottery players to check past tickets to see if they are the lucky winner.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, has urged players to,“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
The winning ticket was purchased in Doncaster on the 28th of October last year, meaning that the winner only has a few more days to come forward to claim their prize. Winners have 180 days from purchasing the ticket to claim their prizes.
The winnings numbers from that date were 10, 16, 19, 23 and 43 and the Lucky Stars numbers were 2 and 8. The winning ticket matched the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars numbers. The winner has until the 26th of April to claim their prize.
